Building in the high mountains: Wildspitzbahn and THE 3440
There are always extremes associated with building in the high mountains! It was only possible to construct the Wildspitzbahn – the highest cable car system in Austria and The 3440, the highest building in the Eastern Alps – thanks to great engineering skills, careful planning, outstanding construction teams, motivated employees, as well as luck and courage.
The former Pitz-Panoramabahn – a 25-person group circulating lift – provided skiing access to the Hinterer Brunnenkogel until 2012. This cable car structure was replaced by a single-cable circulator in 2012.
Cable cars in the high mountains give everyone access to a summit experience through selected points in areas with skiing facilities. Only experienced alpinists can access the many thousands of other peaks in the Alps!
